Dr. David Pabir Malgwi hails from Garkida, Gombi LGA, Adamawa State. He was born on 16th August, 1956. He is a graduate of 1981 from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, Kaduna State with MB B.Sc. Degree, University of Jos (1988) where he bagged Certificate in Reproductive Health and in 2002 he obtained Certificate in Applied Epidemiology from University of Lagos – College of Medicine. In 2001, he attended an Agency for Cooperation in International Health held in Japan where he bagged a Certificate in Eradication of Vaccine Preventable Diseases. He did his Housemanship with Yola Specialist Hospital in 1981/1982 thereafter; he served in Owo, Ondo State in 1982/1983 for his National Youth Service Corp (NYSC). Before joining the Federal ‘[Civil Service of Nigeria in 1999; he served as Medical Officer in Numan General Hospital (1983 - 1985), General Hospital Wukari (1985 – 1986) and as Senior Medical Officer in General Hospital Ganye (1987 – 1989). He was appointed as a Board Member of the then Gongola State Health Services Management Board (1989 – 1990). Between 1991 and 1998, he was the Medical Director of Spring Field Hospitals & Clinics Ltd. Jimeta-Yola, Adamawa State as Private Medical Practitioner. He was appointed as Assistant Director in the year 1999 by National Programme on Immunization (NPI) and was later promoted to the post of Deputy Director in 2003 before he was deployed to North East Zone as Zonal Coordinator. Consequent upon the merger of NPI and NPHCDA, he was re-deployed as Deputy Director in the Department of Health Systems Development (HSD) in 2007. He was later re-assigned as Deputy Director, Health Promotion & Capacity Building in the same Department. He was redeployed in 2012 to the Office of the Executive Director / CEO as Head, Special Duties and was later appointed Director, Special Duties in the Headquarters of the Agency. He is a member of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) and other medical professional bodies. He is married and blessed with children. His hobbies include Community Work, Reading, Writing and Cracking Jokes.
