Ibrahim A. Umar is a Medical Doctor and Public Health Specialist with many years of experience in health system management and a fellow of Strategic Management (FSM). He is also a member of Nigerian Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management (CIPSMN) with years of experience in Procurement of Goods and Services including Health Sector Goods.

Dr. Ibrahim is currently serving as Director/Head Procurement Unit, responsible for the overall Procurement activities of the Agency.

Before joining the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) in 2011, Dr Ibrahim served as Director Program for Global Fund Supported HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Projects with ARFH;Procurement Consultantfor Nigeria Malaria Control Booster Project, supported by the World Bank with the National Malaria Control Program Federal Ministry of Health; Project Managerfor Global Fund Supported malaria Project in Nigeria, with Yakubu Gowon Centre;Project manager, Health System Development Project (World Bank Assisted) in Niger State and a Director in the department of Public Health, Niger State Ministry of Health.

In addition to MBBS degree from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Dr Ibrahim has Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) (International) from Institute of Tropical Medicine Antwerpen, Belgium and a Fellow of Strategic Management (FSM) from Pan African Institute of Stratrgic Management Ghana. He also has various certificates in project management, financial management, and procurement from World Bank Institute; Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Accra. Ghana and Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria (CIPSMN)

Dr Ibrahim is well travelled and has participated in several local and international seminars, workshops and leadership courses.

He is happily married with children.
