Friday, 2nd May 2025, marked a historic milestone as we launched the GAVI Alliance Health Systems Strengthening 3(HSS3) in Nigeria—a bold step towards improved immunization coverage and achieving health security and equity for all.”

Under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and through GaviHSS2, we made important strides that include:

  1. More than 1.7 million “zero dose” children received routine vaccines through the Zero Dose Reduction Operational Plan.
  2. Over 91 million children under 5 were reached during measles catch-up campaigns.
  3. ~6 million children under 14 years old vaccinated during diphtheria reactive vaccination campaigns.

With GaviHSS3, we will work with Alliance partners to double down on our collective efforts to:

  1. Revamp national and subnational governance structures in line with SWAp and the NPHCDA Blueprint.
  2. Strengthen the use of a gender lens in the delivery of equitable and integrated PHC services to reach zero-dose and underserved populations.
  3. Catalyze digital transformation to streamline data collection, analysis, and utilization/surveillance.
  4. Drive our health campaign effectiveness agenda through to impact.

Together, we’re building a healthier, more resilient Nigeria.
