Earlier today the NPHCDA took delivery of 1653 Solar Direct Drive Refrigerators (SDD) for storage of vaccines. The SDD refrigerators will strengthen vaccine logistics, storage and management to ensure that every child has access to life saving vaccines.
The SDD refrigerators will be distributed to Revitalized Primary Health Care Facilities across states and FCT.
PHC facilities are selected based on identified gaps including underserved location, rural areas without national grid and high disease burden areas.
Breakdown of Distribution to Facilities By Zone are as follows:
North West Zone – 448
North Central Zone – 308
North East Zone – 128
South East Zone – 205
South West Zone – 343
South South Zone – 221
The receipt of these vital cold chain equipment for vaccine storage is an intervention that sits at the heart of His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for the health sector.
