Aligned with the presidential commitment under the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative (NHSRII), the NPHCDA is utilizing the Sector-Wide Approach (SWAp) to revitalize PHC facilities and implement Strategy 2.1, aiming for at least one Level 2 functional PHC per ward, expanding to ~17,600 PHCs over 4 years8
The Agency has galvanized all government and partner resources for PHC revitalization, leveraging funding sources like BHCPF and IMPACT already disbursed at state level9
PHC revitalization is focused on making PHCs functional and accessible, with renovations, essential infrastructure, equipment, solar power and trained personnel especially in underserved areas10
The goal is to reduce maternal and child mortality, increase service utilization and achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC), through community engagement, quality improvement and digital innovations🏥

Additional Requirements for Level 2 (L2):
- Minimum of 2 consulting rooms
- Separate male and female functional toilets
- Reception and waiting area
- 2 inpatient wards (male & female)
- Delivery/Labour ward
- Pharmacy/dispensary
- Laboratory services
- Fenced premises with secured gate
- Borehole with overhead tank
- Accommodation (minimum 2 bedrooms)
- Solar power (min 5KVA for main building, 1.5KVA for staff accommodation)
