Administration and Human Resource

The Department of Administration and Human Resource which is basically a service department that ensures the smooth and effective management of the Agency is headed by a Director.
The department is currently structured into the following four (4) Divisions headed by Officers on GL17 and Deputy Directors:
  • Appointment, Promotion; Discipline Division
  • General Services Division
  • Training; Staff Welfare Division
  • Performance Evaluation; Management Division

Planning, Research and Statistics

The Department of Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS) coordinates aspects of activities across departments.  It also liaises with development partners in their relationships with the Agency. The department is currently structured into the following Divisions :
  • Monitoring and Evaluation 
  • PHC Operational Research 
  • Project Monitoring & Evaluation
  • Policy, Planning and Partnership Coordination

Primary Health Care Systems Development

The Primary Health Care System Department (PHCSD) is one of the Departments in National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA).
It is saddled with the responsibility of developing and providing robust all-encompassing Primary Health Care services for all Nigerians.
The PHC services that are people-oriented, development of health systems utilizing infrastructures that ensure effective community co-management and optimal utilization of available resources both human and material.

Department of Disease Control and Immunization

The department of Disease Control and Immunization is one of the 11 departments of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency. It is led by a Director and has 3 Divisions which include:
1. Routine Immunization
a. NERICC
b. GAVI Desk
2. Disease Control
a. Supplemental Immunization Activities
b. Outbreak response
3. Surveillance
a. Polio surveillance
b. Vaccine surveillance
c. Measles surveillance

Community Health Services

Community Health Services (CHS) department is one of the 11 departments of National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA). The Department champions three of the Agency’s goals: Improve quality of health care, engage communities and strengthening partnerships.
It is currently structured into the following Divisions :
  • Community Health Services 
  • Health Promotion and Social Mobilization

Finance and Accounts

The department is saddled with the responsibility of efficient and effective financial administration by providing financial support services in pursuance of the core mandates and goals of the Agency.
It is currently structured into the following Divisions :
  • Finance and Treasury Operations
  • Accounts and Management Information
  • Budget Monitoring and Agency Operations

Advocacy and Communication

The Department of Advocacy and Communication (DAC) is one of the eleven (11) departments of the NPHCDA and was established in the year 2014, in response to the recognition that effective advocacy and communication plays a critical role in achieving the NPHCDA mandates.
It is headed by a Director who plays significant roles in attaining the seven (7) corporate goals of the Agency, specifically; strengthening partnerships by mobilising and coordinating stakeholders such as Ministries, Department and Agencies and Development Partners to support the implementation of PHC; and strengthening community engagement by promoting community participation, ownership, and responsibility for health through Ward Development Committees and communication and programmes.
The Department of Advocacy and Communications has three (3) Divisions namely Communications, Social mobilisation and Resource mobilisation and six (6) Branches which include Advocacy, Programme Communication, Community mobilisation, Civil Society, Inter Sectoral Collaboration, Public Private Partnership as well as six (6) Units.

Logistics and Health Commodities

The department plans, executes and manages dynamic supply and demand network for receipt, storage and distribution of vaccines and health commodities. It deploys transport services and  technology for scheduling and tracking.
The department is currently structured into the following Divisions :
  • Operations
  • Quality Assurance and  Strategic Planning
  • Delivery

Special Duties

Special Duties department headed by a Director supports the Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer to Monitor the implementation of programs, policies and projects. It serves as a Liaison to the National Assembly for Monitoring and Certification of Zonal Intervention/Constituency Projects.  It also coordinates the Executive Director’s response to emergencies.
The Department is structured into three (3) Divisions namely: Stock Verification, Protocol, Travel and Events and Anti-Corruption & Transparency

Internal Audit

Internal Audit is one of the 11 departments in NPHCDA. Its major responsibilities include checking of compliance with extant laws, regulations, instructions, and directives, ensuring efficient use of resources, adequacy of accounting processes and procedures, that proper books of accounts are maintained and that funds are used only for approved budgeted purposes. Advising the Executive Director on all audit matters and technical provisions of the Audit Regulations and Treasury circulars.

Nutrition

The Department of Nutrition is the latest of the Eleven (11) departments of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA). Created in March 2023, the department shares joint responsibilities across three of the Agency’s Goals: Improve Quality of Care, Engage Communities, and Strengthen Partnerships.
The Nutrition Department has the mandate to initiate, coordinate, and spearhead Nutrition and Nutrition related activities in Primary Health Care in all the 36 states and the FCT; to develop, disseminate, and regularly update relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Protocols, and Guidelines for Food and Nutrition; to enhance Maternal and Child Nutrition, Vitamin A, Iron/Folate, and Maternal Micro-nutrient supplementation, Deworming, screening for Malnutrition, as well as to promote positive behavioural change and lifestyle modification.
The Department is currently structured into the following Divisions:
  • Maternal, Infant and Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN)
  • Prevention and control of Micronutrient Deficiencies
  • Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM)
