Integrated Medical Outreach Programme
Objectives
The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) in collaboration with the National Assembly (NASS), the Federal Ministry of Health & Social welfare (FMoH&SW) provides free medical services to Nigerians through the medical outreach programmes. The overall aim of this intervention is to bridge the gap in the provision of medical services to under-served communities and to drive demand for PHC services.
Medical mission activities are part of good governance drive, and efforts towards achieving Universal Health Coverage for all Nigerians. Medical mission also aligns with the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) of the Government (Investing in our people) which is expected to contributee to health-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Medical Outreaches have also served as a tool for strengthening community engagement and participation for PHC programming. Data from the 2024 financial shows the following: Total number of clients reached 157,568; Women-86,662; Children-23,635 and Men-47,270.
