About TSP

The Technical Support Program (TSP) was established to enable the Agency to systematically harness financial and technical capacities available within and outside the Agency to meet the Technical Assistance needs of all 36 + 1 State Primary Health Care Boards.

NPHCDA under the leadership of its Executive Director, Dr Faisal Shuaib, and the management team established Technical Support Program(TSP) to enable the Agency systematically harness financial and technical capacities available within and outside the Agency to meet the Technical Assistance needs of all 36 + 1 State Primary Health Care Boards. The program was launched on July 17, 2018, by the then honorable minister, Federal Ministry of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole.

The NPHCDA’s leadership conceptualized and set up the technical support program (TSP) with financial support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), and technical assistance from Solina Centre for International Development and Research (SCIDaR).

The TSP was designed and setup to strengthen the NPHCDA to deliver, coordinate, and track technical support to all the states of the federation across all PHC focus are

Leadership Development Academy (LDA)

Through the program, the NPHCDA also set up the Leadership Development Academy (LDA) in recognition of the need to build a pool of in-house staff equipped with the requisite leadership and management competencies to sustainably lead and coordinate effective TA delivery to the State Primary Health Care Boards.

The LDA was designed to deliver a blend of leadership, management, and basic functional skills using tailored adult learning approaches including interactive in-class sessions, external rotations, mentorship, learning tours and a culminating capstone project. The academy runs on a 6-monthly cycle, graduating a cohort of 30 fellows per cycle.

The agency has worked with over 30 partners to deliver the TSP and looks forward to expanding its pool of organization to facilitate the successful execution of its TA delivery to States and the Leadership Development Academy. The agency seeks continuous collaboration with existing and new partners in the implementation of the TSP.
